Support of Coastal Ocean Observation System with Satellite-derived SST and Ocean Color Products

Funded by: The Northeastern Regional Association of Coastal Ocean Observing Systems (NERACOOS)
Principal Investigator: Andrew Thomas

OVERVIEW:

The UMaine Satellite Oceanography Data Laboratory (SODL) will build upon currently funded activities to operate the near-real time receiving, processing, archiving, product creation and delivery streams for satellite chlorophyll (CHL) and sea surface temperature (SST) fields for the NE US shelf area. The SODL has a long history of supporting and providing imagery and data for the regional IOOS activities including multi-decade time-series and associated climatologies and anomalies.  Near-real time products will be supported and by updated climatology and anomaly fields at a series of temporal resolutions.
